1. Your registration

uk.app provides registration and DNS management for names such as yourname.uk.app. You receive a right to use the name while it is paid for and complies with these terms and our acceptable use policy. You do not acquire ownership of uk.app or a separate top-level domain. Registration does not give you rights to another person's trademark or identity.

Availability is subject to reserved names, technical rules, existing registrations and security checks. An unpaid reservation is normally held for 48 hours. Payment must be confirmed before activation. Keep an accurate account email and protect your password, API tokens and dynamic DNS credentials. You must have authority to act for any organisation you register for.

2. Features and hosting requirements

The annual plan includes managed DNS with up to 100 records per name, API access, dynamic DNS, ACME DNS-01 validation support, a parking page and up to 20 redirects. Available records and setup instructions are described in the documentation. Limits and validation rules apply to panel and API requests.

Website hosting, email hosting and an internet connection for your server are separate. You are responsible for configuring the destination and a valid HTTPS certificate. Browsers using the .app HSTS preload require HTTPS. DNS changes may take time to appear in cached responses.

Third-party services set their own hostname and DNS-zone requirements. We do not guarantee acceptance as an independent Cloudflare zone or treatment as a registrable domain. Registration does not guarantee Public Suffix List inclusion, search indexing, email delivery or search rankings.

3. Payments and automatic renewal

The current standard annual price is £4.99 per name in GBP. Review the total and billing period shown at checkout before paying. Your bank may apply conversion or other fees. Receipts and payment history are available in the billing panel.

Card subscriptions are processed by Stripe and renew annually until cancelled. Manage your payment method and cancel future card renewals through the billing panel's subscription portal. End-of-period cancellation preserves access until the paid period ends; it does not itself refund an earlier payment.

For names paid from account balance, the service attempts to deduct the annual renewal charge from available balance when renewal is due. Contact us before expiry if you need help stopping a balance-funded renewal while retaining the remaining paid term. Adding balance and paying for a name are separate transactions.

4. Expiry, release and restoration

An expired name normally enters a 30-day grace period, followed by a 30-day hold during which managed DNS is removed. It then moves to the bin. Paid names normally have a 30-day release quarantine before reuse. Scheduled processing can affect transition times; abuse suspension can interrupt service sooner.

Moving a name to the bin removes it from DNS but does not itself cancel its card subscription. Cancel future renewals separately in billing if that is your intention. Restoration requires an unexpired paid registration, an available name and no suspension restriction. There is currently no separate restoration fee.

Permanent deletion removes stored DNS records and confirms cancellation of a linked card subscription before completing. It can make the name available sooner than the normal bin period and cannot be undone. Names left in the bin are normally deleted after 30 days. Export records you want to keep first.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Our service offer provides a full refund of a first registration payment requested within 14 days if the name has not been used. This offer is additional to any mandatory cancellation or refund rights that apply to you. Using the service does not by itself remove statutory consumer rights.

To request cancellation or a refund, email hostmaster@uk.app from your account address with the name, payment date and invoice number if available. State whether you want to cancel future renewal, cancel the registration itself or request a refund. Do not send card details. Refund requests, including balance requests, are reviewed under the applicable rights and transaction concerned; there is no automatic refund button.

You may use this wording: “I give notice that I cancel my uk.app registration for [name], ordered on [date]. My account email is [email]. My name is [name]. Date: [date].” Another clear cancellation statement is also acceptable. These terms do not exclude any legal right to a refund.

6. Misuse and appeals

We may restrict a name, DNS service or account where there is evidence of prohibited use, a material security threat, unpaid charges or a binding legal requirement. Urgent action may precede notice. To dispute a restriction, contact us with the name and evidence through the abuse form or operator contact above. We do not guarantee a fixed response or takedown time.

7. Availability and liability

DNS infrastructure is redundant, but outages, maintenance and third-party failures can occur. No fixed uptime service-level agreement is included with the standard plan. Keep your own configuration backups and do not rely on this service as the sole component of a safety-critical system.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or limits mandatory consumer remedies. Subject to those protections, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us for it in the preceding 12 months.

8. Privacy, changes and disputes

The privacy policy explains data processing. Third-party hosting providers are responsible for their own services and policies. The date above identifies this version. Material changes affecting paid service terms should be communicated before taking effect; an updated page does not remove rights already acquired.

Contact us first about a complaint so we can investigate. These terms use the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your country that apply to you as a consumer.
